Filles ou garçons ? Pourquoi de plus en plus de parents espèrent une fille

Longtemps considérée comme « moins désirable », la naissance d’une fille est aujourd’hui célébrée. Dans les pays riches, mais pas seulement, la tendance s’inverse : les petites filles deviennent le premier choix de nombreux futurs parents.

« Ouf, ce n’est pas un garçon ! » : cette exclamation, autrefois impensable, devient presque banale dans certaines familles. Sur les réseaux sociaux, des parents filment leur « gender reveal » et laissent transparaître une émotion inattendue : la joie d’attendre une fille, et parfois… la déception à l’annonce d’un garçon. Aux États-Unis, le phénomène a un nom : « gender disappointment ». Et il explose.
